Legitimate ways to pay less

- 4.Confirm whether GST and payment-gateway charges apply before treating a quoted price as the final payable amount.
- 5.Choose an access period that reaches your exam date, so you do not need to pay for an extension later.
The lowest fee may not buy teaching
A ₹1,500 test series, a ₹5,000 study-material purchase and a recorded full course answer different preparation needs. Career Endeavour's 2026 fee page prices IIT-JAM study material for Mathematics at ₹5,000 and its IIT-JAM test series at ₹1,500, while PI AIM prices its recorded IIT-JAM/TIFR Mathematics course at ₹14,900.
Career Endeavour says 18% GST applies. A buyer who adds its ₹5,000 Mathematics material and ₹1,500 IIT-JAM test series pays a ₹6,500 subtotal. With 18% GST applied to that subtotal, the worked amount is ₹7,670. That is why a quoted course fee is only the starting point for comparison.
Compare the same six items before paying
- Teaching format: Is the quote for a test series, recorded course, live online batch, offline classroom programme or a hybrid course?
- Course scope: Check whether the price covers one topic, study material, a test series or full preparation.
- Recording access: Confirm whether missed live classes are recorded and the exact access end date.
- Tests and analysis: Ask how many topic-wise and full-length tests are included, and whether analysis or video solutions are included.
- Materials and tax: Confirm whether books, PDFs, dispatch and GST are inside the quoted amount.
- Checkout and extensions: Check payment-gateway charges, instalment totals and the price of any extra access time before enrolment.
PI AIM's 2026 IIT-JAM/TIFR Mathematics prices show why format matters: its recorded option is ₹14,900, while its live plus recorded option is ₹19,900. MIM Academy's 2026 page places live online IIT-JAM Mathematics at ₹10,000 to ₹12,000, and InfoStudy's 2026 page places live online IIT-JAM Mathematics at ₹12,000 to ₹20,000. Those are useful reference points, but they are not interchangeable packages.

When a lower-cost option is the wrong purchase
A test series is not a substitute for teaching if you still need concept instruction. A recorded course is not the right fit if you need real-time questions answered during class. A hybrid or classroom package is not automatically better if its extra access, materials or contact time do not address your actual gap. Choose the smallest configuration that covers the work you still need to do.
